Project Description
2020 October Meeting – Liberty Hall
Date: October 2020
About This Gallery
During a year marked by pandemic disruption, the Union County Historical Society found a creative way to gather safely in October 2020. Instead of the originally planned virtual program, members met under a large outdoor tent at Liberty Hall in Union, NJ. With limited attendance and strict safety protocols in place, the meeting continued the Society’s tradition of education and engagement despite the challenges of COVID-19.
The featured guest speaker, Hanna Gaston, brought history to life with her captivating presentation on the ghost of Hannah Caldwell—whose spirit is said to haunt Liberty Hall after her tragic death during the Revolutionary War. This meeting, held amid the backdrop of a historic location and an ongoing global crisis, stands as a testament to the resilience of the historical community.
