About This Gallery
In the summer of 2019, the Union County Historical Society proudly recognized five exceptional students from Union County high schools as part of its annual Student Awards program.
Each student was awarded a $500 scholarship in support of their academic excellence and passion for historical learning.
The honorees were: Asiyah Muhammad (Rahway High School), Emma Herber (Cranford High School), Michael Cao (Summit High School), Simeranjit Kaur (Plainfield High School), and Amy Diaz (Elizabeth High School), who was unable to attend the ceremony.
The event was a celebration of youth engagement with history and a testament to the Society’s continued investment in the next generation of scholars, leaders, and civic thinkers.
